Best pantanal tour experience
Are you a nature lover? This is your opportunity to encounter one of earth’s most stunning felines. On this extraordinary 3 or 4-night trip, you will journey along the banks of the Pantanal river, the world’s largest tropical wetland area.
Guests stay on a riverboat (max 16 guests) that features 8 twin cabins, each with a private bathroom. This trip includes daily tours and meals. You will be guided throughout your expedition by pantanal experts to explore this vibrant, and unique habitat, and to help you try to spot the largest wild cat in the Americas – The Jaguar. During your Brazilian Safari, you will see many incredible animals, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and stunning scenery as you navigate along the Brazilian river system.
This tour is being offered in conjunction with one of our best suppliers in North Pantanal, Mutum Expeditions. See You in Brazil has worked with Mutum Expeditions for a very long time, so we are confident in their experience regarding the health and safety of the safari, as well as the quality of their services.
From now until November the Mutum Expeditions boat will be anchored on the Cuiabá river banks, about 30 minutes (boat ride) away from Porto Jofre, where passengers can board to go on one of their 3 or 4 night-programs (description below).
What is Pantanal?
Named a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve, Pantanal is the largest floodplain on the planet. This tropical wetland encompasses 2 states in Brazil (Mato grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul), and parts of Bolivia and Paraguay. People from all over the world travel to Pantanal to be able to spot the incredible Jaguar. This bio-rich landscape features colorful macaws, toucans, periquitos, giant otters, alligators, iguanas, and so many more unique, exotic mammals, reptiles, and birds.
When is the best time to spot the Jaguars?
The dry season is the best time to go. During this time of year the jaguars need to go to the riverbanks to find water since water levels are low, so you have much better chances to spot them. It is also the best time to get the clearest pictures and videos.
How long and when is the Pantanal dry season?
From the middle of June until the end of November is the dry season – the best time to see the Jaguar.
