We will
leave the hotel after breakfast to visit the most famous
landmarks of the city where we will see the natural beauties
from up above. After a scenic drive along Rodrigo de Freitas
Lagoon, passengers arrive at the bottom of the Corcovado
Hill. We will embark on a comfortable train which will climb
the mountain, where the statue of Christ the Redeemer, is
located (2.300ft above sea level). The Christ statue known
as the “wonder of Rio” was recently elected one of the 7
winners of the " New Wonders of the World ". Upon arrival at
the top we have mechanized access, with panoramic elevators
and escalators that take us to the foot of the statute.
There, passengers enjoy a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro,
discover why it is called the "Marvelous City" and the view
the Christ statue which is considered “ the wonder of Rio”.
We make our way down on the same route and towards the other
world famous landmark, the Sugar Loaf Mountain. Before
getting there we will stop and have a delicious Brazilian
Barbecue lunch. Over a million tourists a year visit the
world famous Pão de Açúcar, or Sugar Loaf Mountain in
English, which has become an iconic symbol of the city of
Rio de Janeiro. Rising up from small peninsula at the
entrance of Guanabara Bay, its name is said to refer to its
resemblance to the traditional shape of concentrated refined
sugar loaf. The tour is done in two steps by glass
cable-cars. The first cable-car takes passengers to the top
of Urca Hill, which rises 215 meters above sea level and
offers spectacular views of the entire bay its islands. From
Urca Hill, passengers continue in a second cable car to the
top of Sugar Loaf which rises 395 meters above sea level and
offers a 360 degree view of the entire city including
Botafogo and Copacabana Beaches, the Corcovado and downtown
Rio. Duration: 8 hours

Botanic Garden driver + guide
Rio de
Janeiro’s Botanical Garden is a one of the ten most
important ecological sanctuaries in the entire world.
Besides housing some of the rarest species of plants from
Brazil and other countries, it is an also an excellent
leisure option for children and adults alike not to mention
true nature lovers. Visitors can stroll along the pathways
of the park to the sounds of native birds like the “curios”
and the “sabiás.” The exuberance of nature in all its color
and glory provide images that visitors will keep in their

Corcovado
We will
depart from the hotel to visit the Christ Statue, recently
elected as one of the seven modern wonders of the world,
which sits 2,300 above sea level, atop Corcovado Hill.
Following a scenic drive along the Rodrigo de Freitas
Lagoon, we will arrive at the foot of the hill from where we
will embark on a small train ride which climbs the beautiful
mountain. Upon reaching the top, visitors will experience a
panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro and discover why it is
known as the “Marvelous City”! Tour also includes a drive

Favela Tour
Rocinha is
the largest Favela (Slam, impoverished area) in Latin
America with around 150.000 inhabitants. Get to know the
community routine by walking along its streets and alleys,
visiting some local houses and commerce centres, especially
the Boiadeiro Square Free Market. There you will find food
and hand made goods from both Brazilian North and North
Eastern Region, where most of Rocinha´s inhabitants came
from. Obs: Schools and Day Care Centres may also be visited,
under previous request, while touring Monday to Friday by
providing products or money donations.

Guanabara Bay
On 1st
January, 1502, a Portuguese squad commanded by Gonçalves
discovered Guanabara Bay. Being that it was the month of
January and that the bay appeared to be a large river mouth,
he named it Rio de Janeiro (River of January). Based on
water volume, Guanabara Bay is the largest bay in the world,
and has several islands such as the Governor's Island,
Fundão and Snakes Island. To the west, lies Rio de Janeiro,
and facing east - the municipal district of Niteroi. Various
sights and landmarks will be seen as we depart from the
Marina da Gloria by schooner, such as the neighborhoods of
Botafogo, Flamengo, Urca, Sugar Loaf Mountain, Fort São
Joao, Flagstone Island, Santa Cruz Fortress, Rio-Niteroi
Bridge and more.

Tour Botanic Garden + Tijuca Forest
Visit the
Botanical Garden which was created in 1817 by King Dom João
IV. Dedicated to the culture of exotic plants, the unique
park features a variety of rare and exoctic species brought
form all over the world. Among the rarest are the Imperial
Palm Trees, huge water lilies (Victorias-Regias), and Red
Wood trees (Pau Brasil), which are an endangered species in
the Atlantic Forest. In its famous greenhouse, more than 500
species of delicate orchids are carefully tended to. We then
will make a visit to the Tijuca Atlantic Forest, the largest
urban forest in the world, stopping at the Chinese View
Belvedere with features a magnificent view of Ipanema and
Copacabana beaches, the Guanabara Bay and the Sugar Loaf
Mountain. During the tour guests usually see tropical
animals like monkeys, monkeys sloths and exotic birds. On
the way back to the hotel, we stop at the Pepino Beach to
watch the hang gliders.

Jeep tour Corcovado + Tijuca Forest SIB
Following
hotel pick up in convertible, Hummer-style jeeps, we will
make our way to Corcovado Mountain, located in the Tijuca
Atlantic Forest, the largest urban forest in the world and
home of the famed Christ the Redeemer statue- recently
elected as one of the 7 winners of the “New Wonders of the
World” contest. We will stop at the Dona Marta Belevedere
and Corcovado to see admire the views. We will then take
Paineiras road and stop at Tijuca Forest, where we will
embark on a trail up to the Cascatinha Falls. We will take
Canoas Road and pass along Pepino beach and return to the
hotel Obs: Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, access to the
Corcovado is through the Sumaré Road.
Jeep
Tour to Tijuca Forest
Following
your pick-up in open-top jeeps at your hotel, guests will be
taken to the stunning Tijuca Atlantic Forest, the largest
urban forest in the world. We will make stops at the Chinese
Lookout with magnificent views of Ipanema and Copacabana
beaches, Guanabara Bay and Sugar Loaf. During the tour,
guests can casually observe tropical animals like monkeys,
sloths and exotic birds. On the way back to the hotel, we
will stop at the Pepino Beach to watch the hang gliders fly
through the air. Duration: 4 hours

Petropolis driver + guide
Petropolis
is located in the Serra dos Orgaos, and is only one hour
from Rio de Janeiro. There we will stop at the Imperial
Museum, which served as the summer residence of the imperial
family during the 19th century. Visitors can view various
historical pieces such as the scepter and crown of Emperor
Don Pedro II, historical documents, imperial jewelry and the
priceless pieces of art that belonged to the imperial
family. During our tour we will visit the Crystal Palace and
the São Pedro de Alcantara Neolithic Cathedral. F/D option

Secrets of Old Rio
This is an
unusual walking tour which gives the visitor a feeling for
the legends and stories woven around the narrow streets and
old historical buildings of downtown Rio. The walk includes
a visit to many interesting points, such as the São Bento
Monastery, Candelaria (the candle-makers), Praça XV, the "Travessa
do Mercado", Imperial Palace (Paço Imperial), the cultural
center located in the beautifully-restored Banco do Brasil,
the Casa França-Brasil, Ouvidor (the listeners) Street and
Gonçalves Dias Street with the traditional Colombo Coffee
Shop. The walk continues on down Uruguaiana Street, Carioca
Square up to the Metropolitan Cathedral where passengers
will meet the transportation that will take them back to
